A cable harness rarely has just one diameter. Thin signal cables run alongside thick bundles, and the dimensions vary at each connector. The econ connect heat-shrink tubing covers this range with 15 sizes.
The 2:1 range starts at 1.6 mm and, with a wall thickness of 0.43 mm, adds hardly any bulk. It extends up to 25.4 mm for large bundles.
Where an 8 mm connector housing transitions into a 3 mm wire, the 3:1 series takes over. The ECBOX903 shrinks from 9 mm down to 3 mm and seals the transition without the need for a second tube.
As the black polyolefin shrinks from as low as 90 °C, a hot-air gun set to medium is sufficient, and adjacent plastic parts are not damaged; the operating temperature ranges from –55 °C to 125 °C.
Its certification to UL224 with flammability class VW-1 also simplifies documentation requirements for North America.
The heat-shrink tubing is supplied in handy boxes for easy cutting. For larger quantities, rolls of up to 200 m are also available.
